does hand soap kill bacteria

March 12th, 2010 admin No comments

i am doing a science fair project on hand sanitizers handsoaps and want to see which one removes germs faster?

i am doing a science fair project on is soap or hand sanitizer more effective in killing bacteria i am wondering how many agar plates should i use and what should be my procedure and materials please provide detailed answer.

well you will need a test subject first. get them to grubby on an agar plate and keep that as the test. Then get them to grubby on a whole lot of others then add the sanitiser to the centre of the plate. you will need as many plates as you have sanitisers then one more for the control.
Also try the black light test. Get the control to get grubby and see what you can with the black light, then get them to use one sanitiser and see what can be seen after use with the black light. Then repeat, make sure the control re grubby himself with the same amount of grub. make sure you take photo’s too.
The hospitality area usually has a black light you can borrow, or try science. I think they share
all the best and go kick some science fair @ss!

replacement soap dispenser pump

Kitchen Sink Soap Dispenser Not Sucking Up Soap!?

I have a soap dispenser that is built in to my sink. It’s only a year old, and I am worried that the o-rings on the piston inside the pump are already worn. I have taken it completely apart and made sure all tubing was clear, and it is. It just will not suck anything up! If it is the o-ring seals, can I get replacements? Is there a way to repair this or could I be missing something? (Yes, there is soap in the reservoir under the sink).

I wouldn’t think they would be worn out in only a year…..but you never know. HD or Lowe’s will have o rings. Just take the old ones with you and get the same size. Check a couple more things…the neck of the bottle, maybe tightening and un tightening the bottle the threads have crack in them. Is there a washer where you screw the bottle up under the sink ? That may have slipped out of place.
