physics soap bubbles
i need an advanced 8 grade sci project. has to be physics?

if you have any good ideas help me
needs to be an varible qustion like which soap makes the best bubbles

Simple: measure the distance an object travels (dependent) when putting an amount of force (independent) on it.
(also can put weights on an object and use the same amount of force every time to show the difference when an object is lighter vs. heavier)

In grade school, i remember using a skateboard and putting an amount of force on it with some type of spring that shows the amount of Newtons being used.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Thin-film optics is the branch of optics that deals with very thin structured layers of different materials. In order to exhibit thin-film optics, the thickness of the layers of material must be on the order of the wavelengths of visible light (about 500 nm). Layers at this scale can have remarkable reflective properties due to light wave interference an…

colored soap bubbles

colored soap bubbles
is there a name for this?

U know how the surface of bubbles and other oils/soap have that multi-colored rainbow look. What is the name of that?

I don’t know of a name for it, but what is happening is constructive and destructive interference.
Light reflects off of both the top surface and the bottom surface of the thin layer of oil or soap. The optical thickness of the oil/soap layer determines how the 2 reflected light waves line up – in phase, out of phase, or with some random phase offset. The 2 light patterns interfere based on the phase offset. You see the color whose wavelength interfers constructively. Because of subtle nonuniformites of the thickens off the oil/soap suface layer, we end up seeing a rainbow of colors when we look at that surface.

This is the same phenomenon that is used to make colored reflective surfaces on sunglasses, and architectural glass coatings.
